Veterans Day Ceremony 2019

On Monday November 11, 2019, the American Legion Post in Southampton will be dedicating a new memorial at Veteran Field, 400 Street Road, Southampton.  The memorial contains the names of all those from Upper Southampton Township who served in the Great War, later renamed World War I.  One of the names is Russell S. Tomlinson.  He lost his life in France on November 1st 1918 just days before the Armistice was signed to end the war.  The ceremony will start at 11:00 am to commemorate the Armistice to end the Great War.  All are invited to attend this solemn ceremony.

Upper Southampton 2018 Memorial Day Celebration

Since 1947 the American Legion Post 800 in Southampton has hosted a Memorial Day ceremony on the last Monday in May. This year will be no different. The ceremony will start at 9:30 am on May 28th. The location is Veteran Field 400 Street Rd. in Southampton. This year's speaker will be Sergeant Stephen Winther USMC. He was deployed twice to Afghanistan where he was awarded the Bronze Star medal with a "V" for Valor, Purple Heart, and two Navy Achievement medals.   The William Tennant High School Band will perform during the ceremony. Upper Southampton service members who gave their lives during WWII and Vietnam will be remembered and honored by the placing a wreath at the base of the memorial trees. We invite all to join us for this tribute to all out fallen military
